It is our understanding at this time that the above listed safety equipment is required by the USCG for a vessel certified for up to 20 miles from Harbor of Safe Refuge.   Any additional safety equipment requested by the customer or required by the USCG for over 20 miles from Harbor of Safe Refuge will be charged to the customer.

FCC/USCG Requirements

The Operator (not necessarily the owner) of the USCG Certified vessel carrying more than 6 paying passengers is required to have the following:  (1) USCG License to Operate or Navigate Passenger Carrying Vessels (posted on vessel); (2) Valid Marine Radio Operator Permit (posted on vessel); and (3) Valid Radio License (posted on vessel).

It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the above licenses.  It is your responsibility to schedule the FCC Ship Radio Inspection at your home port.  A Radio Log book must be aboard the vessel during the inspection.  A current copy of the Federal Communications Commission's Rules, Title 47 of CFR, Part 80 - Stations in the Maritime Services - must be aboard.  It may be obtained by ordering from the Government Printing Office, Washington, DC 20402.  Telephone: 202/783-3238, credit cards accepted, Stock#004-000-00475-2.
